LERF officially welcomes Tom Bocci to the Advisory Board January 2005 It has been nearly a year since we invited our dear friend and producer of Lacy’s latest CD, Tom Bocci, to serve on the advisory board of the Let ’em Run Foundation. We’ve welcomed him in a previous edition of our newsletter, but it’s time for a big official photo-and-all. Welcome to the board! Tom will be advising us on music, television and movie projects, which is the area of his expertise. Throughout his career, Tom Bocci has enjoyed success in all the major areas of the Music Business. He has served as independent Music Supervisor/Producer in more than fifteen motion pictures, was named Director of Creative Development for Motion Pictures and Television for PolyGram Publishing, and was Creative Consultant to the Sony Music labels exploiting their catalog to film, TV, and advertising.
During a long association with the films of Blake Edwards and Henry Mancini, Mr. Bocci saw his work rewarded with song nominations for a Grammy (“You Can’t Resist It” – Lyle Lovett) and an Academy Award (“Life in a Looking Glass” – Tony Bennett). His work on scores and soundtracks as Music Production Director for Walt Disney Studios aligned him with legendary film composers Jerry Goldsmith, Thomas Newman, Michael Kamen, and Basil Poledouris among many others. Most recently, as Vice-President of Music for Warner Bros. Television, he was responsible for the creative direction and music production of twenty-two network series including ER, Friends, and The Drew Carey Show. Prior to these credits, as artist, writer, and producer, Tom released a critically acclaimed world music CD entitled “Vanishing Voices.” In addition, Tom co-produced "The Last Wild Place", my newest CD. This is only my second independent release since 1978!! (The first was 'Wild Horse Crossing') We are so happy with the new CD. It is certainly my best work to date. The music may be described as more Folky than Country, but country fans worldwide on KOCR Country WEB Radio (6 million subscribers) voted “She Could Run” (a story song about a race horse) #1 in 1 week’s playing out of 1900 others and “Listen to the Wind” (an autobiographical selection) #2! This occurred in just one week’s playing! The new CD also features the song “Slip Away”, which recently went to #1 on the IndieWorld Country chart for 4 weeks. “Slip Away” is also being used in the indie film “Raising the Dead” starring Allison Eastwood (Clint Eastwood’s daughter). So, thank you Thomas for producing a wonderful album for me and a very warm welcome indeed to you to the advisory board of the Let ’em Run Foundation. |
